Using 45 degree angle on rotary cutting ruler, align ruler as shown in Diagram III and trim each corner of place mat. (If you prefer rectangular shaped place mats, omit trimming step.) Bind place mats with red solid fabric (see Basic Quiltmaking Instructions). Assembling Napkins Step 5. Cut two 16 1/2" squares from red and red print fabric. Sew squares together right side to right side (1/4" seam allowance). Backstitching at beginning and end of seam, leave opening for turning (Diagram IV).
