Planning a Reproduction
The center square is cut oversized to allow for shrinkage during appliqué. Mark finished size with basting stitches before appliquéing. This charming large-scale pink and green appliqué has a folk art look that makes it at home in a variety of décors. It probably began as a kit quilt sometime in the early years of the Depression. Once you've finished the simple appliqué, add your own special hand or machine quilting to highlight the borders.
