Planning
Kathy substituted patches cut from blue Judaica prints for some of the light blue/white and dark/medium blue squares and strips used in the sashing. Do likewise if you wish. When arranging the sashing strips and blocks for assembly, place light sides of pieced strips against dark-background blocks, and vice versa, to create a frame effect.

Piecing and Appliquéing the Blocks and Sashing Units
Step 1. Draw diagonal line on wrong side of white 3" square. Referring to Diagram I-A, place marked square on Judaica print 5 1/2" square, right sides together, aligning raw edges. Stitch on drawn line; trim away and discard excess fabric. Press open. Repeat on 2 additional corners as shown. Sew white 5 1/2" strips to sides and 9 1/2" strips to top/bottom to make Dreidel Block (Diagram I-B).
