Sunflower Pillowcase

Fabric Requirements (for two pillowcases)
Purple texture (flanges, strips on backs) ... 3/8 yd.
Green leaf print (centers) ... 1 1/2 yds.
Sunflower panel print (border stripes) ... 1 1/4 yds. or border stripes left over from cutting squares for quilt top

Planning and Cutting
These lovely pillowcases are simply beautiful, with or without the matching Sunflower quilt. The sunflower panel print used in the quilt has a charming checkerboard/sunflower stripe along the selvedges, which Debbie used in the pillowcases. You'll be delighted with how quickly these pillowcases come together!

Cutting Instructions
Purple texture
... 4 strips 1 1/2" x 20"
... 4 strips 2 3/4" x 20"
Green leaf print
... 2 rectangles 19" x 20"
... 2 strips 6" x 20"
... 4 rectangles 12" x 20"
Sunflower panel print
... 4 strips 7 1/4" x 20"*
Cutting Diagram
*Cut from border stripe. Cut 5 1/4" from one side of center line in checkerboard and 2" from the line in the other direction (see Cutting Diagram).

Piecing the Pillowcases
1. Fold purple texture 1 1/2" x 20" strip in half lengthwise, wrong sides together; press. Referring to Diagram I, place on green leaf 19" x 20" rectangle, aligning raw edges. Baste in place. Repeat on opposite end of green rectangle. Make 2.
