Hints for Fast and Easy Machine Appliqué
To machine appliqué the pink 2 3/4" squares on the corners of the white 9 1/2" squares and white 15" quarter-square triangles:

• Refer to Step 3 to prepare the pink 2 3/4" squares and for positioning them on corners of white squares and triangles.

• Using monofilament thread on top and regular sewing thread in the bobbin, select either a buttonhole stitch or blind hem stitch on your sewing machine. Use a short stitch length. Practice on a scrap before starting on your quilt squares and triangles.

• When you start to machine appliqué the pink squares, position the machine presser foot so that the needle will make the lengthwise stitches on the white background and the horizontal stitch lands on the pink square, appliquéing it in place. Machine appliqué the two folded edges of the pink squares to each white setting square and 8 white setting triangles.
