Adding the Appliqué
Step 3. To prepare appliqué corners for setting squares and triangles, fold under scant 1/4" on 2 sides of pink 2 3/4" square to wrong side (Diagram III-A); press. Position 2 prepared corners on opposite corners of white 9 1/2" square with raw edges matching, as shown in Diagram III-B. Using appliqué method of choice (see Basic Quiltmaking Instructions), appliqué the 2 folded edges in place on white square (raw outside edges will be caught in block seams). Make 20.
Step 4. Repeat process of folding and appliquéing corners to 8 white 15" quarter-square triangles, as shown in Diagram III-C.

Quilt Top Assembly
Note: Refer to Assembly Diagram for following steps. The setting triangles on all edges and corners are cut oversized to allow trimming quilt edges even after assembly.
Step 5. Carefully arrange and sew 10 diagonal rows using Sixteen-patch Blocks, Appliqué Blocks, appliquéd setting triangles and remaining white 15" quarter-square triangles, turning blocks as needed to match design. Sew rows together. Stitch white 8" half-square triangles to corners. Trim edges even.
