Margrit's Mosaic
Queen-size Quilt
Designed by Margrit Hall

Like a lavish palace floor, this queen-size quilt owes its intricate appearance to creative design, not difficult construction. Elegant Robert Kaufman fabrics add to the rich feel.

Planning, Cutting, and Marking
Glints of gold in these Robert Kaufman fabrics lend this quilt added richness. Margrit chose a directional print for the outer border, and she cut the top and bottom strips on the crosswise grain and the side strips on the lengthwise grain. This required a little extra fabric. If your border fabric choice is not directional, you can cut all 4 strips on the lengthwise grain, and you’ll need just 3 yds.
