Step 7. Sew 4 Template B fabrics to #1 seasonal print 5 1/2" square, as shown in Diagram VII. Add cream 3 3/8" half-square triangles to corners to make block center square. Make 17.

Step 8. Referring to Diagram VIII, arrange and sew together cream 3" squares, pieced rectangles, and block center square to make Tile Mosaic Block. Make 17.

Quilt Top Assembly

Step 9. Arrange and sew 7 rows of 5 blocks each (alternate blocks). Sew rows together. Sew green texture 1 3/4" x 92" strips to sides; trim even with top/bottom. Stitch remaining green strips to top/bottom; trim even with sides.
Step 10. Sew gold print 1" x 93" strips to sides; trim even. Sew remaining gold strips to top/bottom; trim even. Sew #2 seasonal print 6 1/2" x 94" strips to sides; trim even. Sew remaining #2 print strips to top/bottom; trim even.

Step 11. Layer and baste quilt top for quilting method of your choice (see Basic Quiltmaking Instructions). Margrit machine quilted, stitching the blocks and block units in the ditch. She drew attention to the secondary pattern of distorted stars by centering each with a Celtic knot pattern quilted with gold metallic thread. Cream background areas are filled with stippling, and each block has a central star flower motif. The green border is channel quilted with two rows of stitching, and the outer border is filled with a fan pattern.
