Quilt Top Assembly
Note: Refer to Assembly Diagram for following steps. The setting triangles on all edges and corners are cut oversized to allow trimming quilt edges even after assembly.

8.) Stitch 9 sashing rows using green 2" squares and cream 2" x 11" strips. Sew 8 block rows alternating cream 2" x 11" strips with blocks.

9.) Add sashing rows to block rows as indicated by arrows. Sew white 19" quarter-square triangles to ends of rows. Sew rows together. Add white 11" half-square triangles to corners. Trim quilt edges even.

10.) Stitch black 1 1/4"x 90" strips to sides of quilt; trim even with top and bottom. Stitch remaining black strips to top/bottom; trim even with sides. Sew green leaf print 7" x 92" strips to sides; trim even with top/bottom. Sew remaining green leaf print strips to top/bottom; trim even with sides.

Quilting and Finishing
11.) Layer and baste quilt top for quilting method of your choice
(see Basic Quiltmaking Instructions). With monofilament thread, Pat ditch quilted the blocks, sashing, and black border and added an X in each green sashing square. She used neutral thread to quilt a cable in each sashing strip and a feathered triangle in each setting triangle. In the outer border, Pat added crosswise lines (spaced 2 1/8" apart) with light green thread.

12.) Bind quilt with green print fabric (see Basic Quiltmaking Instructions).
