3. Referring to Diagram III,
sew yellow 3 3/8" half-square triangles to sides of white 6 1/4"
quarter-square triangle to make pieced rectangle. Make 8. Sew together
white 3" squares, pieced rectangles, and yellow 5 1/2" square
to make Eight-pointed Star Block (see Diagram IV). Make 2.

Quilt Top Assembly
4. Referring to Assembly Diagram, arrange and stitch 6 rows
of 5 Flag Blocks each. Sew 1 row using Eight-pointed Star Blocks and
white 10 1/2" x 25 1/2"strip. Sew rows together.
5. Trace Templates A-C on paper side of paper-backed
fusible web. Cut apart, leaving small margin beyond drawn line. Following
manufacturer's instructions, fuse to wrong side of appropriate fabrics;
cut apart on drawn line. Referring to photo, position template fabrics,
and following manufacturer's instructions, fuse in place. Appliqué
edges using buttonhole stitch (see Diagram V).
