Step 3. Referring to Diagram II, sew assorted ivory/cream 5" x 9 1/2" rectangle (see Planning, Cutting, and Marking) to half Rolling Star to make Half Rolling Star Block. Make 63 total.

Quilt Top Assembly
Note: Refer to Assembly Diagram for following steps.
Step 4. Arrange and stitch 9 rows of 7 blocks each. Sew rows together.
Step 5. To make the red pieced border strips, sub-cut assorted red print 2" x WOF strips in half. Sew together as illustrated in Diagram III. Make 2 strips approximately 84" long and 2 strips approximately 70" long. Sew 84" strips to sides of quilt top; trim even with top and bottom. Sew remaining red strips to top/bottom; trim even with sides.
Step 6. Stitch ivory texture 6" x 88" strips to sides; trim even with top/bottom. Stitch remaining ivory texture strips to top/bottom; trim even with sides.

Quilting and Finishing
Step 7. Layer and baste quilt top for quilting method of your choice. The blocks were ditch quilted, and a straight line was added in the corner of each plain rectangle. A fleur-de-lis variation appears in each plain rectangle and a continuous line variation of this motif is quilted in the outer border.
Step 8. Bind quilt with dark green texture fabric (see Basic Quiltmaking Instructions).
