Planning
Tricia dug into her stash of red and blue prints when making her scrappy patriotic lap quilt. Use a large variety of shades and textures to enhance the visual interest of your quilt. To match Tricia's design, use a single fabric for all of the star points within a block. Tricia pieced the borders from strips of varying lengths. We instruct you to do likewise in Steps 6 and 7. By adding white sashing strips between the blocks, Tricia created a floating star design.
