2. Referring to Diagram II-A, sew green mottle and beige mottle 2 7/8" half-square triangles together to make pieced squares. Make 16. Repeat process using red mottle with beige mottle 2 7/8" half-square triangles, and red mottle with green mottle 2 7/8" half-square triangles. Make 16 of each. 3. Arrange and sew 4 rows using beige mottle 2 1/2" squares and pieced squares as shown in Diagram II-B. Sew rows together to make Corner Star Block. Make 4. 4. To make strip-pieced borders, arrange and sew green mottle 2" x 48" strips to sides of beige mottle 2" x 48" strip; add red mottle 4" x 48" strip (see Diagram III). Make 4 Quilt Top Assembly Note: Refer to Assembly Diagram for following steps. 5. Arrange and sew 4 rows using Log Cabin Blocks (rotate as needed). Sew rows together. Stitch red mottle 2" x 48" strips to sides; trim even with top and bottom. Sew remaining red mottle strips to top/bottom; trim even with sides. 6. Measure exact width of quilt top (from raw edge to raw edge). Trim 2 strip-pieced borders to this measurement and sew Corner Star Blocks to ends. Sew untrimmed strip-pieced borders to sides; trim even with top/bottom. Stitch remaining pieced borders to top/bottom. Quilting and Finishing 7. Layer and baste quilt top for quilting method of your choice (see Basic Quiltmaking Instructions). Michele machine quilted a meander on the blocks and a continuous swirl design on the borders. 8.
