Planning, Cutting, and Marking
When working with lots of small pieces, an accurate 1/4" seam is critical. We suggest you double check your piecing by making a test block. It should measure 11 1/8" square, raw edge to raw edge.

Cutting Instructions
White solid
*4 strips 9 1/2" x 89", cut on lengthwise grain
*4 squares 17" x 17", cut in half twice diagonally to make 16 quarter-square triangle (2 left over)
*12 squares 11 1/8" x 11 1/8"
120 squares 3 3/8" x 3 3/8"
180 squares 2 5/8" x 2 5/8"
2 squares 9" x 9", cut in half diagonally to make 4 half-square triangles
45 squares 4 1/4" x 4 1/4", cut in half twice diagonally to make 180 quarter-square triangles
8 squares 2 3/8" x 2 3/8", cut in half diagonally to make 16 half-square triangles
Indigo small print
120 squares 3 3/8" x 3 3/8"
174 squares 2 5/8" x 2 5/8"
*Cut first.

Piecing the Blocks
1. On wrong side of white 3 3/8" square, draw 2 diagonal lines with marking tool of your choice. Referring to Diagram I, place white square on indigo 3 3/8" square, right sides together. Sew 1/4" seam on each side of one line. Cutting on unsewn line first, then on remaining drawn line, cut sewn square into quarters. Press open to make pieced triangles. Make 480.

2. Stitch 2 pieced triangles together to make pieced square (Diagram II). Make 240.
