Burgundy texture (blocks, flower centers) 1/2 yd.
Cherry red texture (blocks) 1/4 yd.
Black solid (blocks, vines, leaves, narrow border, binding) 1 3/8 yds.
Red paisley (blocks, buds, outer border) 1 3/4 yds.
White solid (blocks, inner border) 1 3/8 yds.
Red/cream print (blocks, flowers) 3/8 yd.

Vintage Essentials fabrics by Jennifer Sampou for Robert Kaufman give this quilt its sweet appeal. The strips for the vines are cut on the bias. Refer to "How to Make Continuous Bias" for instructions on how to cut bias from a square.

Piecing the Blocks
1. Referring to Diagram I, sew medium pink texture 2 3/8" half-square triangles, Template A and AR fabrics, and cherry red texture 4 1/4" quarter-square triangle together to make pieced rectangle. Make 36.
2. On wrong side of pink 2 3/8" square, draw diagonal line with marking tool of your choice. Place pink square on black 2 3/8" square, right sides together (Diagram II). Sew 1/4" seam on each side of marked line; cut apart on marked line. Press open to make pieced squares. Make 36.
