Piecing the Blocks
1. Referring to Diagram I, draw diagonal line on wrong side of assorted red/green/brown print 2" square with marking tool of your choice. Place marked square on assorted cream print 2" x 3 1/2" rectangle, right sides together, aligning raw edges. Stitch on drawn line. Trim and discard excess fabric. Press open. Repeat on opposite end of cream rectangle to make pieced rectangle. Make 80 sets of 4 matching.

2. Arrange and sew 3 rows using matching cream 2" squares, pieced rectangles and matching red/ green/brown print 3 1/2" square, as shown in Diagram II. Sew rows together to make Star Block. Make 60 total.
3. Referring to Diagram III and Planning, repeat block assembly process but use non-matching print 3 1/2" square for center. Make 20 total.

Quilt Top Assembly
Note: Refer to Assembly Diagram for following steps. The setting triangles on all edges and corners are cut slightly oversized to allow trimming quilt edges even after assembly.
4. Arrange and sew 17 diagonal rows using assorted print 11" quarter-square triangles, Star Blocks and assorted print 6 1/2" squares. Sew rows together and stitch assorted 6" half-square triangles to corners. Trim edges even.
5. Sew red/green print 1 3/4" x 90" strips to sides; trim even with top and bottom. Stitch remaining red/ green strips to top/bottom; trim even with sides. Sew 2 1/2" x 92" green texture strips to sides; trim even. Stitch remaining green strips to top/bottom; trim even.
6. Sew brown/red print 5" x 96" strips to sides; trim even. Stitch remaining brown/red strips to top/ bottom; trim even.

7. Layer and baste quilt top for quilting method of your choice (see Basic Quiltmaking Instructions). Karon machine quilted an allover leaf/floral design on the blocks. She ditch quilted the borders and added a continuous line leaf design on the middle border. A flowing feather fills the outer border.
8. Bind quilt with brown/red print fabric (see Basic Quiltmaking Instructions).
