Fabric Requirements
Cream felted wool* (blocks) 20" x 40" piece
Forest green felted wool* (blocks) 20" x 40" piece
Blue felted wool* (border, binding) 40" x 50" piece
Gold felted wool* (appliqué) 22" x 24" piece
5 assorted solid and plaid felted wools* (appliqué) 12" x 14" piece each
Backing 3 1/8 yds.

Working with felted wool can give your quilt a warm feeling that just can't be duplicated in cottons. If you're felting your own wool, machine wash and dry on high heat settings, repeating until fabric "felts up." You can also purchase prefelted wool at most quilt shops.
To reduce bulk, Lise pressed her seams open after each construction step. Binding strips were cut 1 1/2" wide, applied by machine to the face of the quilt, then turned to the back, where the raw edge was hand stitched to the backing fabric.
