What says "autumn" better than crisp, colorful leaves? Welcome guests with these lovely wreaths in fall foliage colors. The woven background design will add a new technique to your piecing skills.

Fabric Requirements
Yellow texture (piecing) 1 5/8 yds.
Green leaf print (piecing, binding) 1 3/8 yds.
Rust print (piecing) 7/8 yd.
Orange print, orange texture, orange marble, #1 green print, #2 green print, #1 green texture, and #2 green texture (appliqué) 1 fat quarter each*
Backing 3 1/4 yds.
Batting Twin size
*A fat quarter is an 18" x 20-22" cut of fabric or a true quarter of a yard.

Cutting Instructions
Note: To cut appliqué fabrics, see templates diagrams. Appliqué templates are printed without seam allowance. Download Template Diagrams - PDF File
Yellow texture
... *8 strips 3 7/8" x width of fabric (WOF)
... *8 strips 2 1/4" x WOF
... 16 squares 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"
Green leaf print and rust printcut from each:
... *4 strips 2 1/4" x WOF
... 32 strips 2 1/4" x 7 3/8"
*Cut first.

Piecing the Blocks
1. Referring to Diagram I, sew strip sets, press, and cut segments as shown.

2. Stitch strips to sides of segments, in color arrangements and quantities shown in Diagram II.
3. Refer to Diagram III and follow instructions in Partial Seaming Construction (at right) to assemble Lattice Block. Make 16.

Quilt Top Assembly and Appliqué
4. Stitch 4 rows of 4 blocks each (see Assembly Diagram). Stitch rows together.

5. Referring to photo, position Template A-C fabrics. Appliqué in place.
Quilting and Finishing
6. Layer, baste, and quilt. Each green and rust strip is machine quilted with 2 parallel lines, further emphasizing the woven look. Leaves feature vein details, and the background is filled with a continuous swirl pattern. Bind with green leaf print.
