Ann's blocks get their woven look from partial seaming construction. The photographs below will show you step-by-step how to assemble the components of this intriguing block.

Partial Seaming Construction

1. Align raw edges of yellow 2 1/4" square with corner of pieced rectangle, right sides together. Sew partial seam, starting approximately 1" from top of 2 1/4" square.

2. Open out yellow square and press partial seam.

3-6. Sew 2nd, 3rd, and 4th pieced rectangles to 1st unit.

7. Finish sewing partial seam, continuing seam to join 4th rectangle to 1st.
