Quilt Top Assembly
Note: Refer to Assembly Diagram for following steps. Setting
triangles are cut oversized to allow trimming quilt edges even after
assembly.
4. Alternating Kansas Sunset Blocks and cheddar 3 1/4" x
10" strips, sew 7 diagonal rows. Stitch remaining cheddar strips
to block rows as illustrated; trim edges even. Sew white 20" quarter-square
triangles to ends of rows. Stitch rows together. Sew white 12"
half-square triangles to corners. Trim quilt edges even.
5. Position remaining template fabrics (in alphabetical order)
on setting triangles. Appliqué in place.
6. Stitch red 2" x 80" strips to sides; trim even with
top and bottom. Sew remaining red strips to top and bottom; trim even
with sides. Stitch 44-square strips to sides; adjust as needed. Sew
46-square strips to top and bottom; adjust as needed. Stitch 1 3/4"
x 86" blue strips to sides; trim even with top and bottom. Sew
remaining blue strips to top and bottom; trim even with sides.

Quilting and Finishing
7. Layer and baste quilt top for quilting method of your choice.
The maker quilted concentric arcs throughout.
8. Bind quilt with gray/white plaid fabric (See Quiltmaking
Lessons).
