Probably
made in the last quarter of the 19th century. Eugenia Mitchell purchased
it in a thrift store in Denver in 1983.
She
paid only $3.83 for it. The red pieces had all worn away. Eugenia
began restoration in May of 1983 by replacing the red pieces and
finished in 1991. However she left some of the original red fabrics
at the bottom of the quilt so anyone could see what she had done.
