Quilters' Connection

Featured in McCall's Quilting June 2004 Issue

Each June issue, McCall's Quilting presents our annual Quilt For A Cure campaign. We thought you might enjoy seeing how other groups utilize our patterns to support breast cancer awareness.

This variation of Baskets of Hope (McCall's Quilting, June 2003) is one of two quilts made by Linda Rakow of Granger, Indiana. With it she raised $830.00 to benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The other quilt was given to Diana McMann, while she was going through chemo and radiation therapy. Baskets of Hope
Quilt for a Cure Issue Blooms For a Cure
Blooms for a Cure (McCall's Quilting, June 1998), shown here in blues and greens, was made by twelve members of the Tangled Threads Study Group, part of the Rock Valley Quilters Guild in Janesville, Wisconsin. This quilt was raffled and a check for $3,154.00 was presented to the Breast Cancer Support and Survivors Group of Rock County.
The Nimble Thimbles, from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, combined the 2001 Quilt for a Cure fabric, Healing Garden, and the pattern Electra (McCall's Quilting, April 2001) to make The Healing Journey. This quilt raised $600 for their local cancer support group. Electra Pattern
