Annette Hedge of Tracy, Minnesota, and her grandson, Matthew are shown with his quilt at their lake cottage. Annette made the quilt from the pattern In the Deep Blue Sea (McCall's Quilting, August 1999).
Surrender at Appomattox Courthouse (McCall's Quilting, February 2001) was made by Irene Wood of Cape Eliz, Maine. She modified the pattern by adding narrow borders of red and gold.
